As A JW Were You Generally Feeling Guilty Over One Thing Or Another?
by minimus ini believe the witnesses keep people in the cult by means of using guilt as a tool.
it seems people who leave the religion tend to stop using meds and anti-depressants.
exjws seem more content and less filled with worry and guilt.. what do you think?.

Are we all still FAMILY? Yes or No?
by Greybeard inhere is why, even though i no longer agree with most of what the gb/wt/jw's teach, i still feel especially close to all of us who were apart of this group.
born in or converted.
we all have had the same life experience of being raised in a over bearing mind controlling cult.

Do you think Witnesses would drink the "Cool-Aid" if told to do so...like Jonestown?
by Witness 007 injonestown 1970's, jim jones brainwashed his 900 member cult into committing mass suicide by drinking cyanide cool-aid.
only three escaped.
{the smart ones} one man hid under a building....another escaped into the jungle while armed guards dragged another member to get injected by force.

*** w87 1/15 p. 16 par. 5 The World Was Not Worthy of Them ***
5 Another example of faith from the days of Israel's judges was Samson, mighty enemy of the Philistines. True, he eventually became their blinded captive. But Samson brought death to many of them when he pulled down the pillars of the house in which they were presenting a great sacrifice to their false god Dagon. Yes, Samson died with those Philistines but not as a despairing suicide.*** w70 6/1 p. 330 par. 19 Do You Have "Faith to the Preserving Alive of the Soul"? ***
But Samson was no cowering, morbid-minded suicide. He did not cause the collapse of the house in despair, wishing thereby to end a miserable life and thinking he was a complete failure. No. It took faith for him to petition God for sufficient strength to wreak vengeance upon the assembled Philistines, enemies of Jehovah and His people.I guess theres more than one kind of suicide! lol

Blondie's Comments You Will Not Hear at the 09-18-2011 WT Study (GOD'S REST)
by blondie inthat the seventh day was still under.
the man that has entered into gods rest has.
what was the purpose of gods seventh day of rest?.

after reading the context of the verses where Paul speaks about entering Jehovah's rest, it seems to me that in order to enter his rest we must leave the watchtower! The watchtower law code that is. We must look to Jesus for salvation, not try to work it out by selling books.

So why
by bushido8000 init has become very apparent to me very quickly that this forum is dominated by ex-jws.
i have many questions and topics to present but i first want to know who i am presenting these questions and topics to so i have 2 questions that i would like as many of yall to answer as possible.. .
question 1: did you leave the organization out of the blue or were you first disfellowshipped?.
-
man oh man
Question 1- still in. wish i weren't but i love my friends
Question 2- If i leave it will be because I am sick of the holy governing body. Unscriptural shunning and blood commandments!
I never bought into the gb from day one. after 20 years I shake my head until it hurts. Here recently since we have gotten our own private watchtower I have really gotten extremely sick of the constant taking scriptures out of context, going beyond the things written, and total fables.
Anyway hope you don't mind me answering since the questions don't really apply to me. Thanks

Why can't we "enjoy" life and "hope" for something better? Why not set HIGH standards for oneself and live by them if one chooses? Personally I Love Life and the earth and I don't need no heavenly hope. That was one of the things (paradise) that turned me on to the jw religion. oooops
I would also say that Joseph made out pretty well in his life despite all the ups and downs!
And if there is a God I wish he would let me know personally instead of trying to do it through all of his $imperfect$ freinds here on the earth!
